I have a 97' Nissan Altima with nearly 200K miles. The car has been reliable but it sputters, hesitates and sometimes dies at low RPM. The problem codes are P0100, P0325 & P0304. Is the engine misfire causing the faulty Knock sensor? or could I get away with just changing the Knock sensor to fix the problem.
No tune up, Just regular PM...change oil on time, new tires etc...Spent most of the day under the hood trying to figure this one out. Check injectors. All fine with ticking sound, proper resistace and passed the balancing test. Check wires and DC cap. Resistance with norm no excesive wear tear. Changed plugs while I was at. At 2.00 a piece easy to throw in there but did not fix problem.
I haven't checked the knock sensor because I can't seem to find the thing. But I am tending to think that something else is causing Knock malfunction rather than Knock malfunction causing the misfire.
Next course of action MAFS...Then mabye fuel pressure and compresion.

I wanted to bump this thread up to ask for help myself, i have the same exact car with 180k miles on it and it is very well kept. the check engine light went on recently and i got P0100 and P0325. Should i just replace the knock sensor? i dont stall at low RPMs like some other people with this problem, but i do notice the engine hesitate at times.

your intake gasket is probably leaking on #4 cylinder for some reason they always leak there. while the intake is out of the way you can change the knock sensor and the sub harness. this should take care of all three codes. to verify you can get some carb cleaner and spray around the intake around the #4 runner at the head while the car is running and see if the idle changes, it usually leaks under the bottom so be sure to soak real good.
