I've got a P0430 code Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2) My Friend has OBD II reader and the car actually threw 2 of these. My car has 4 O2 sensors 2 on top and 2 on the bottom of the PRE-CAT. I'm unsure if the car has actually 2 precats as the 04+Nissan Sentra's 1.8s only have 2 O2 sensors and from the FSM it shows only 1 pre-cat but it's a post 2002 model year FSM. The code was erased and 5 days later the CEL has returned. Whats the 1st step I should take in fixing this? Any Help is greatly appreciated.

Are the rear 02's following the front 02's voltages? If so then the conveter is probably junk! I think Nissans had alot of issues with misfires burning up the conveters and the conveters being pretty bad right from new!

so if they voltage readings are the same top and bottom then the Cat is JUNK.....will it be ok to just try and get a reading from the plug or is there a certain spot in need to test at?? Also just FYI the main Engine that Nissan has problems w/ cats was the 2.5L QR25DE
