Hi there, I recently bought a 1997 Chevrolet 1500 It has 95,000 miles on it. The other day the "service engine soon" light came on. No problems at first, then it started getting very sluggish and lost power. On three occasions I will be going down the road and the truck just loose all power and cut off. I have noticed it only does this on a Quarter of a tank of gas or less. Never when its full. It done it day and night, so thats not a factor.
Codes: p0430 and P0102
Any Help.
Best,
Brad

P0102 = MAF or VAF A Circuit Low Input
P0430 = Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)
Clean MAF, check MAF and wiring/connections.
Can you monitor the o2 sensors? The cat may be pooched.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks. Would the gas have anything to do with it? Because it only has these symptoms when it is below a quarter of a tank.
Thanks again.

Take care of the codes first! They're telling you that you have a problem!
If you just bought the truck, replacing the fuel filter wouldn't be a bad idea also.
