04 TrailBlazer with P0410 code

I have noticed a repeating code (2nd time in about a month) reporting on my 2004 TrailBlazer. I know that the code/error is entitled "Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction," but I do not understand what that means or what I should look for in order to correct it.
My TrailBlazer has approx. 37000 miles on it with the "standard-issue" L6 engine (4.3L, I believe). I have maintained it well, so I need to know how to respond.

You have an air injection problem with the emissions system, check with a tech for any tsbs or recall extended warranty etc that are related to that system.

why not have the dealer or a shop look at it for tsbs or if you want to tackle it yourself http://www.alldata.com

Thanks for the suggestions. I already have access to AllDataDIY, and have done some research there. I am still tracking down information there on my own before I decide to take it to a dealer or shop.

i have a 04 trailblazer... the air pump during start-ups makes a high pitched whining sound.. until recently it sounded like it was coming off it's bearings, but only made obvious during startup. reading P0410, i'm taking the obvious steps of replacing the air pump... not a cheap part. must be the year.....
