What year is the truck? Does it run rough at idle? I don't like to guess, but it could be any number of things including the solenoid, erg valve itself, vacuum lines, loose wires, blown 10a fuse...

This DTC mean - no ERG Flow is detected under condition that call for EGR. The EGR temp sensor detects if there is no flow.

Check EGRC solenoid by disconnecting then reconnecting the harness, it should make "clicking" sound. You can also remove the solenoid and connect to battery with jumpers to hear it click. No, clicking then there is your problem.

That should get you started, do report back what you find out. I am interested of what could it be... :)

The EGR solenoid is a possible cause so you could test it as mentioned in the previous post from andywheelz.

Also lift up on the egr diaphram while the engine is idleing and see if the engine starts to run rough or stalls. If it does then it indicates that the egr port itself is not blocked. You can also use a vacuum pump to lift on the egr to perform the same test. If the test shows no roughness or stall you will need to remove the egr valve and check for a blockage. If it does run rough or stall you can look elsewhere in the system for the problem.

I would also suggest that you check the hose at the bottom of the BPT (back pressure transducer). I have seen these hoses leak and cause the EGR code. If the hose is ok then I would check the steel tube that the hose connects to. The tube might be blocked with carbon. If the tube is blocked you can remove it and clean it out.

The tube and hose that go to the bottom of the BPT allow exhaust gas pressure to flow to the BPT valve which in turn opens a port to allow vacuum to the EGR valve in order to open the egr. If the BPT doesn't function then the egr will not get a vacuum and will cause an egr code.

That is one of the possible causes of the egr code. Other cracked vacuum hoses to the egr system can also cause the code but the egr solenoid and the BPT issues are what I find to be most common.

Good Luck!!

The Nissan EGR valve found in your car was well designed to get its right application specific EGR Valve perfected for your Nissan.

first sorry i have not gotten back, got involed in other projects.here is wear i'm at. the diapham in the egrcbpt valve was blown and the valve was full of water. egr valve was also full of water. the egrc solenoid valve does make a clicking noise when unpluged and pluged in. i removed the small steel line on the bottom of the egr valve it had no blockage.no leaks seen in vacccum lines. engine does stumble when you lift up the egr valve diapham. i replaced the egrcbpt valve and egr valve. also replaced the pcv valve because of the water. still have the same code. any ideas would appricate any help i can get.

2000 Frontier 2.4.

I just got the P0400 and P0325 codes. P0400 shows Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow. P0325 shows Knock Sensor.

After doing some checking, we found out it was the hose under the Transducer. It's about 2" long, and was kinked.

Replaced the hose, made a couple trips, and codes are gone.

Always check the small stuff first!
