:( HI everyone! I was hoping someone could help me. I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado 5.3l fuel injected automatic 2-wheel drive with 130,000 miles. When I drive my truck in the morning and go to work it cuts out a little bit. When I drive it home at lunch time it cuts out bad were I can only go about 20 miles an hour (No POWER) then after about 1/2 mile it starts to pick up the speed, but when it shifts it back fires I hear it come from some were in the motor no out the tile pipe like it was back firing from the carb but I know it doesn't have a carb. Check engine light comes on and the code it gives me is P0101, P0137, P0157, P0300. I replaced at one time the O2 sensor behind the catalytic converter but with no help. That’s what orellys told me what one of the codes was. Some one told me it's probably P0101 code the sensor above the air filter. THE 153.99 SENSORS!! I would hate to buy the sensor and find out that’s not the problem! Can anyone help me out PLEASE!

Do you have a K&N air filter? If you do, the oil in the K&N can contaminate the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. Check to make sure the MAF is not contaminated. While inspecting it, it would not be a bad idea to just go ahead and try cleaning it to see if this fixes your problem. Use some brake clean, electrical cleaner etc and spray the wires inside the sensor. Let them dry for a few minutes before reconnecting everything. Check for any air leaks after the MAF. Has a tune up ever been performed? Using a dvom, check the circuits to the O2 sensor behind the cat. Make sure the connector is not damaged and that none of the pins inside the connector are not spread open too much or backed out of the connector.
