does the pump turn on or off? Is there a fuse that's blown? Is there any dmaged or missing hoses to it. All depends on what tools you have, if you have a scanner with bi-directional controls then you should be able to actuate with the scanner and see if it turns on or off.

OKay. I have 3.1 cailfornia emissons. Code P0410. Tools i have is a multi-meter, Code reader and eraser. I do not know of a decent cheap piece of software that will turn on and off air pump.

I think it comes down to three major parts and hoses. (Air Pump, Check Valve, solenoid.) I changed the solenoid and still get P0410. The pump seems to work because it comes on when the car starts and then shuts off after a while. It also does the test of on-off six times i read somewhere. The hoses seem okay.

Any input on what else to check? Please because i can pass emissions test for inspection.

I think I remembr hearing somewhere that the pumps and the check valves very pretty common failure items for those cars, Assuming your pump is pumping when it turns on then we can probably assume that it's fine. The solenoid you replaced so unless there's an electrical problem
somewhere or somehing was missed then I'd assume the check valve isn't introducing the air to the exhaust manifold. You might be able to actuate the pump with some jumper wires while the engine is running and if the check valves will open the 02 sensor should go to a lean reading as long as the pump is energized, assuming there is flow like I said
