Hi Jeff, just finished doing the work to the van... Tonight's adventure included replacing the rear three coils and spark plugs (after 189k km's they could use a change I guess...) and the egr valve. Along the way I also found the source of my burning rubber smell. At the back of the intake runners ...

It sounds like the engine vaccum is so low it's affecting the power brakes. If you want to eliminate the egr temporarily remove it and install a block off plate made from a tin can to stop the flow through it and see if it the performance returns. If so then you can feel even better about replacing it

Hi there Jeff, Think I have isolated the problem down to the EGR valve operation. Code list has grown to P0103, P0131, P0151, P0171,P0174, and a couple of others I cannot remember off the top of my head. Vehicle rocks and pops like a NASCAR racer when in drive and stopped at a light. ...

yeah if it's blowing the hoses off then I'd say there is defiently excessive backpressure. I've seen egrs melt because of this. So I'd say for sure you probably have two plugged cats and as for the Po171 dtc you should be looking for a vaccum leak from the intake gaskets on that truck and checking f...

THe MPV's have alot of issues with ignition coils. If this where in bay I'd tackle the po300 dtc first including checking fuel pressure and EGR operation. If it codes for fuel system lean dtc and misfires The MAF isn't the first place I'd look. You can generate a fuel system lean code if the engine ...
