My 96 Camry has the same problem as well. Is it worth it to have an engine check at the local pepboys for confirmation (priced at $180), or should I just go ahead to replace the DPFE sensor (and EGR valve) like the P0402 article suggested? By the way, the car engine light hasn't turned yellow since I turned it off with OBD on January. The car did stall once last October, but it's been driving fine since then.

you're missing an important detail here about your 401 code on your camry, it's not the same as a FORD, it doesn't use a dpfe sensor.
with a toyota I'd be looking for either an EGR valve itself or a vacuum solenoid issue, or a plugged port in the throttle body, intake etc, If the lights off but still stalling then you'll need to get the codes read again, could be a totally different reason for the stalling

good luck and keep us postted

Jeff
