I have a 1987 chevy 1/2 ton pickup,305ci engine with the throttle body carb. automatic 700r trans. I have replaced the egr valve and the egr valve selenoid switch, but I still get an check engine code for the erg valve. The valve that I purchaced was an after market valve and switch from a local parts house AutoZone. Could this be my problem?

What about the electrical circuit to the solenoid? If you apply vacccum to the valve does the engine stall?
